The initial impetus for the development of the Project LAUNCH NH grant proposal resulted from a shared understanding among a variety of organizations and service providers that the system of care for children and families, most acutely in the community of Manchester, could better meet the needs of this population.
The City of Manchester is the largest urban community in northern New England. It is densely populated and is the most racially and ethnically diverse area in New Hampshire. Although Manchester lies in a relatively affluent state, it grapples with poverty and priority populations, including complex disparities that are found in larger cities.
The Manchester Community Health Center serves as the lead agency for the local project in Manchester. MCHC contracts with four local agencies to carry out the direct services and data collection and performance measurement components.
